Analyse your chess games: train on your own mistakes
The mistakes worth training are your own. OptiChess reads your games, finds the moments where you went wrong, and turns them into exercises: the tactic you missed, the move that lost material, the position where only one move held. You meet them in your training, in among the rest, until you get them right.
Where your games come from
- Lichess: sign in with Lichess once. Your rated blitz, rapid and classical games are fetched; nothing is posted to your account.
- Chess.com: give your username.
- Over the board: paste a PGN, upload a file, or give a Lichess study link. Add the result and ratings where the file doesn't have them.
Games are analysed by Stockfish, usually within a day.
What you get
- Your moments, as exercises: a missed win becomes a tactic; a move that lost material becomes a blunder check; a position where only one move held becomes an only-move question. Each is rated like any other position, and after you answer you see which game it came from.
- Each game, reviewed: your accuracy by stage (opening, middlegame, endgame), where you lose points, and the moments in move order. Filter by source, speed, colour and result.
- Your openings: what you play as White and as Black, how often you win, draw and lose with each, how you come out of the opening, and where in each line you usually go wrong.
Castling here walks into the Greek Gift: 9.Bxh7+! Kxh7 10.Ng5+, and the engine gives White's attack nearly three pawns. For a slip like this, OptiChess shows what the move allowed and what was better, as the engine's lines to step through on the board, and how often you've reached the same position.
